This is a TypeScript-based MCP server that provides web search and scraping functionality using Jina AI services.

web_search- Search the web using Jina AI's search engine- Takes a query string as required parameter
- Returns search results with titles, URLs, and descriptions
- Requires Jina API key authentication
web_scrape- Scrape webpages using Jina AI's Reader service- Takes a URL as required parameter
- Returns clean markdown content from the webpage
- Free service, no authentication required
Development
Install dependencies: ``bash npm install ``
Build the server: ``bash npm run build ``
For development with auto-rebuild: ``bash npm run watch ``
Setup
- Get a Jina AI API Key:
Visit https://jina.ai/ to create a free account and get your API key.
- Environment Variable:
Set the JINA_KEY environment variable with your API key: ``bash export JINA_KEY="your_jina_api_key_here" ``
Installation
To use with Claude Desktop, add the server config:
On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Since MCP servers communicate over stdio, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using the MCP Inspector, which is available as a package script:
npm run inspectorThe Inspector will provide a URL to access debugging tools in your browser.
